Confession of a Shopaholic

By Kitty G Kat

I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic on Friday the 13th. The movie was definitely predictable and a bit depressing, but it was also a cute girlie movie.

How many of us have gotten ourselves into a bind with our credit cards? I believe it is possible and also to have creditors calling. But I must admit it has to do with todays standard of living and not living like Rebecca Bloomwood. Yes, it would be nice to wear designer clothing like Gucci, Prada or Louis Vuitton, but the average Jill (female version of the average Joe) doesn't purchase those brands..more like DKNY, Guess?, Nine West to name a few. Don't get me wrong these clothes can also take a bite out of your Dooney & Bourke Suede Foldover Clutch. Trust me, I know.

No Denying it...I do like to shop and maybe you can call me a shopaholic. It's a must to have one or two new pieces of the latest fashion trends to mix up with last years clothes. Luckily, a lot of last summers styles are still in for this year too.

I went to TJ Maxx just last night looking for some acid wash, torn skinny jeans that I posted about just yesterday. Disappointed only to find slightly torn wide leg jeans, I passed, but still left the store with a silk skirt originally priced at $188.00 discounted to $35.00, couple of tops on sale one $5.00 to go with a sweater I bought the last time and the other $13.00 a must, to go with the new skirt, oh and a top/jacket set by Jones of New York for St Pats Day originally $114.00 down $55.00. With my $10.00 coupon, all for the bargain price of $100.00

Did I really need that stuff? I don't know, what I do know is that I did max out my TJ Maxx card...booo. I get sooo excited right before I shop, its memorizing..thats why I go back over and over again. But, am I shopping to mask some other feeling? Does it give me confidence to wear something new and loving those compliments from the envious Jills? Yeah, a little.

Our purse stings can be tied pretty tight trying to keep up with the Jills. Due to the economy may stores are having great sales, so even if we must have a brand new pair of shoes, we can find great deals. Or maybe, we can find a rich man like Rebecca did in the movie. One never knows.

PS. Now I only hope that eBay will not offer the props from Confessions of a Shopaholic, because if they do I will be in big trouble.:( - 15275
