Treating Urinary Tract Infections

By Jennifer King

Do you realize that nearly 10 million people visited the doctor last year for urinary tract infection cures? Most of these sufferers did this to relieve the agonizing symptoms associated with urinary tract infections which include: frequent urination; need to urinate but to no avail; aches above the pelvis; clouded urine; blood in urine; fatigue; vomiting; fever; and chills and night sweats. The ailments of urinary tract infections will make your life unpleasant and a bladder infection treatment should be contemplated as soon as possible!

If a urinary tract infection is left untreated, the symptoms will become significantly worse, and you could risk more difficulties to your body including severe kidney problems. But what will you choose for a treatment? A safe, natural treatment, or antibiotics?

Unfortunately, of last years 10 million doctor visits, nearly all UTI sufferers got prescribed antibiotics to treat their urinary tract infection. Many UTI sufferers will complete their course of antibiotics and be fine while other UTI sufferers will take the same antibiotics and the only result they get is more pain. Even more unfortunate, most UTI sufferers who take the anti bacterial medicines don't have a clue about what urinary tract infection antibiotics are doing to their body.

Anti Bacterial Drugs Explained

Anti bacterial medicines have their purpose in the medical field, and have done some good in some cases. In saying that, antibiotics are being prescribed at a greater rate than ever than in the past, and might be resulting in more harm than good. If you or a family member is suffering from a urinary tract infection please realize this! The word 'antibiotic' literally has the meaning 'anti-life.' Why do you think this is?

Antibiotics (especially urinary tract infection antibiotics) are drugs that are used to kill bacteria (E-coli). You may think this is good but unfortunately urinary tract infection anti bacterial drugs can NOT tell the difference from 'good bacteria' and 'bad bacteria'. In a flawless world, the anti bacterial drugs would only kill the E-coli and nefarious germs that cause UTI's in your bladder. However this isn't the case, UTI antibiotics will almost all of the time kill those harmful bacteria and your friendly bacteria. And all bacteria is NOT bad!

Anti Bacterial Drug's Effect on The Body

For example, urinary tract infection antibiotics will also kill your intestinal flora which helps digest food, and the immune system bacteria which aids in a healthy immunity. With the over use of antibiotics, digestion problems will arise as well as destruction of your immune system. Also, as you become more and more dependent upon anti bacterial drugs, the harmful bacteria in our bodies become more and more tolerant of antibiotics. The result is your doctor prescribing harsher antibiotics to kill the tolerant harmful bacteria (and more of the beneficial bacteria). Do you believe this? A 2003 medical report said that 42% of E. coli was un-effected by one or more of the 12 antibiotics that researchers investigated.

An Immune System Boosting Option

You do not have to treat your urinary tract infection with antibiotics. In fact, one of the safest ways to treat a urinary tract infection is by allowing your body to cure the urinary tract infection itself. By given the correct means, the body can actually cure itself in less than 12 hours naturally (no harmful drugs). Treating UTI is as easy as preventing E coli from living in the bladder by simply maintaining high acidic levels while flushing your body with the correct fluids. - 15275
