Your Road Map to Success For Your Pay Per Click Campaign

By Brian Basch

As time has gone by pay per click advertising has undergone certain changes. With Google's changing rules, advertisers must now do more for their campaigns than just insert large numbers of keywords. The old methods are no longer valid.

Keywords will become deactivated and their costs will rise if you continue with these old methods. It is a fact that bids on even basic keywords have risen, making you pay more attention to your choice of keywords.

The good news is that a little attention will result in a better chance of success. If you know why Google behaves in the way that it does and you choose your keywords appropriately, you'll stand a good chance of making a profit.

Google profits through its advertising service. It needs to have ads that entice searchers to click on them so Google can make money. This is the reason that they check the ads carefully.

For this reason Google is continuously working on quality. Getting rid of false information, spam, and worthless sites is their goal. Unfortunately many PPC sites fall into these categories. Be sure that Google views you as a worthy site with good ads, so that you can succeed.

How do you do this? You can achieve lower costs and higher quality by adding some extras to your site. In fact it will only take a few more pages to make your website look good to Google.

An "About Us" page, a privacy policy on its own page, and a list of your terms and conditions of use will improve your quality score dramatically. Make sure that you have a contact page available that allows viewers to get in touch with you, too. Google views this as extremely important.

Although these changes are relatively small they will make a big impact on your PPC campaign and search engine rankings. When you add an XML sitemap this will also help to improve your quality score.

An XML sitemap is really just a directory of the content in your site. However, it makes it a lot easier for Google to see what your site is and does. Ask a programmer to add a map for you. It'll cost a little, but it might make your bids up to thirty-five percent cheaper.

Knowing what Google wants and how to show the search engine giant that you're legitimate will help you build an effective campaign. Want to check how effective your keywords are? Search for them and see what comes up.

After this find out about similar terms and then check the content and Meta tags on your competitors' sites. Never copy, just get an idea of what to do. Adding original content to your site will help to lower your costs and raise your quality rank with Google. - 15275
